Jayme's First Race Day!

I've been so bad at updating our family blog!

Last weekend, Jayme ran in her first race :) I worked the finish line and Chris coached Jayme and Emma at the start. 890 kids showed up to race! WoW!
Here's Jayme coming into the finish! Maybe a new racer is in the Hay house? I hope so :)

School Already?!

J started school this week, 5th grade. *gulp* She had a great first day but was a bit grouchy to have homework on the very first night!

She was really happy to be in class with her BFF, here they are:Let the chaos of the school year begin!

Summer Storm

Manhattan was hit with a big storm Friday afternoon. Our block normally has tree limbs all over the place when a storm hits, but this time we were pretty lucky. A few pretty good sized limbs in the front yard, and one tree in the back that completely snapped in half! I really didn't realize how big the storm was until the girls and I set our for our Saturday morning run. This is what we saw on campus and throughout town.Makes me sad :(

Hooray for New Bike Day!

When you're a kid, I can't think of anything much better than new bike day. Jayme's knees were hitting the handlebars of her little girl bike.....so that day came last week for J. I think this is maybe the 4th bike that kid has gone through! Seems like every summer we have to buy a new bike because she grows a foot over the winter! We went with a ladies bike this time, so hopefully that will be it for awhile!
We all went for a bikeride, then to DQ for some yummy ice cream :)
